FAQ
Questions, answered.
What does Nutility actually do? +
We're an AI agent workforce for utility GIS, backed by senior GIS engineers. We move utilities
off the retired geometric network and onto the Esri ArcGIS Utility Network — and can stay on
to keep that data clean and audit-ready long after go-live.
Do I have to take both services, or can I start with just one? +
Just one is fine — migration and maintenance are separate engagements. Take the migration on
its own and run the network yourself from go-live, or bring us in for maintenance alone — the
agents work whether or not we did your migration. Many utilities start with one and add the
other when it makes sense.
How long does a migration take? +
Most migrations go live in roughly four to six weeks, versus the three to six months a manual
effort typically takes. Engineers design the asset model up front; agents do 85%+ of the
transformation and validation in parallel.
Is this just scripts and AI, or are real engineers involved? +
Both, by design — engineer-led and agent-run. Senior GIS engineers design your model and
certify the result; the AI agent workforce does the heavy, repetitive lifting. Nothing ships to
go-live without a senior engineer's sign-off.
How much does it cost? +
Migrations are a fixed price, scoped from an initial assessment — so you know the number before
you commit, and it fits in a budget. Ongoing maintenance is a predictable subscription. Reach
out and we'll walk you through it.
What happens after go-live? +
That's up to you. We hand over a certified network you can run yourself — or the same agents
that migrated your data stay on to maintain it: continuously checking connectivity, catching
bad edits the moment they happen, and keeping your records audit-ready, so the cleanup work
that never ends doesn't fall on your team.
Which utilities and domains do you support? +
We work across water, wastewater, gas, and electric networks on the Esri ArcGIS Utility
Network. If you're planning a move off the geometric network, we should talk.
How do you handle data security? +
We treat your network data as sensitive critical-infrastructure information: least-privilege
access, encryption in transit and at rest, and a full audit trail of every change agents make.
We're happy to review your security requirements directly.
How do we get started? +
Start with a migration assessment. Send us a note above or email hello@nutility.io, and an engineer will scope your network and walk you through timeline and price.
