Senior GIS Engineer, Utility Network

About the role

Nutility moves utilities off the retired Esri geometric network and onto the ArcGIS Utility Network — engineer-led, agent-run. As a Senior GIS Engineer you own the network model: you design the asset packages, define connectivity and terminal configurations, and sign off on every migration before it ships. You're the judgment layer over an AI agent workforce that does the heavy, repetitive transformation and validation.

What you'll do

• Design asset packages and Utility Network data models for gas and electric domains from a customer's geometric network.
• Define connectivity, terminal configurations, and network rules so traces route correctly HV→LV.
• Review and sign off on agent-produced transformation and validation before go-live.
• Turn readiness-assessment findings into a concrete, fixed-scope migration plan.
• Work directly with utility GIS teams to resolve ambiguous data and edge cases.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in utility GIS, with hands-on Esri ArcGIS experience.
• Deep knowledge of the ArcGIS Utility Network — asset packages, association types, network topology, and tracing.
• Real experience with the geometric network and what a migration off it actually involves.
• Comfort reasoning about network data models and connectivity at scale.
• Strong judgment about data quality — you can tell a real problem from noise.
• Clear written communication; you can explain a model decision to an engineer and a stakeholder alike.

Nice to have

• Deep gas and/or electric domain expertise.
• Experience with data-driven validation or QA tooling.
• Familiarity with Python (pyogrio/GDAL) or SQL for data inspection.
